Thanks for these FAQ’s, they are helpful and concise . Most of the work I’ve been doing has been in the games industry, but since moving to the Toronto area I’m starting to think about getting into the film/tv side of things a litte more.

I studied electroacoustic music composition at the undergraduate and graduate levels, so there were a number of reference materials. One I remember liking a lot was Barry Schrader’s Introduction to Electro-Acoustic Music (http://www.ears.dmu.ac.uk/spip.php?page=artBiblio&id_article=1120). You can always find a number of good references by checking out course outlines from Universities that teach ea, as these often list reading materials. Of course, nothing beats LISTENING to as much ea as you can.

Thanks for the informative FAQ. I am a young composer who is currently studying the recording arts @ fullsail university in orlando. The FAQ was very informative and answered a lot of questions that I’ve had. I would be interested to hear what reference materials you used when learning about electroacoustics, if you ever have a free minute. I enjoyed your music as well.

Hey Ned,

First of all, I’d like to thank you for your positive responses on my last thread on the V.I. Control Forum about my music.
Great help and tips as well on your page for us composers.

Anyways, just wanted to stay in touch with you in case we can help each other out in any way.
